The Sharon Academy

Students at The Sharon Academy (TSA) have the option to participate in team and individual sports.

High School:

In the fall, students can participate in junior varsity or varsity boys and girls soccer, and in the winter season, TSA offers jv and varsity basketball for both boys and girls as well. The teams in both of these sports participate in division 4 at the state level. In the spring, lacrosse is a popular sport, where the girls participate in division 2. Boys' lacrosse is currently a club team and will be varsity in the near future.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in cross country in the fall, track and field in the spring, or participate in Vermont Principals Association member to member program which allows students to join a local school's team sport that TSA does not offer. For example, in 2008 a girl from Chelsea joined TSA's lacrosse team and two TSA boys joined Chelsea's baseball team through this program.

TSA's varsity teams are competitive, and we have seen a lot of success both in soccer and basketball on the state level. Our junior varsity teams encourage all students to participate, and as a result, over 60% of TSA students participate in a team sport.

Middle School:

At the middle school, students can participate in soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring.  TSA's middle school athletic program is lively, fun-focused, and seeks to encourage physical health and sportsmanship within the entire student body.

TSA is a member of the Central Vermont League and the Northern Vermont Athletic Conference, and we are eligible to play in the state tournaments. Each team is bound by the policies and bylaws of the Vermont Principals Association.
