The Sharon Academy

TSA students attend a weekly Connections class that focuses on social/emotional learning. Connections offers a relaxed intimate setting geared to foster social/emotional growth. Through dialogue, game playing and creative mediums that include writing, drama, and art, positive communication and expression are practiced. Students explore adolescent issues including self-awareness, decision-making, managing feelings, handling stress, empathy, communication, self-disclosure, insight (self-others), self-acceptance, personal responsibility, assertiveness, group dynamics and conflict resolution.  Health issues are also covered during connections including sex and alcohol/drug education. (one hour per week)
